Hubbub at the Daken hub

Date March 27, 2006

My home a hub? Hardly. But this weekend saw more folks at our home than we’ve had in a while. It was stimulating to have Michael, Mark and Karl sitting in my living room, shooting the breeze.  Not much hiking got done, but no one seemed to mind. Mark came all the way from Linkou. I hope he enjoyed his visit. He set me up on his ftp site so I can have my own domain, which I really appreciate. He showed Michael and I the new Google Finance site, which is truly superb. He even tried holding on to my daughter for a while. I clocked him at 18 seconds before the handoff…;)

Mike’s kids and my son got on pretty well, a continuation of their first meeting a couple of weeks ago. They are very patient with him, even when he throws sharp objects in their general direction,  often finding their intended target. The kids got all sweaty since the only direction to run in my house is up and down. But they all seemed happy.

Isha was not pleased to see the troops leave. It’s the first time I see him get so worked up about friends leaving. He chased the car and seemed genuinely surprised when they finally left him standing in the dust.

All in all, it was a most pleasant afternoon. No pubs, drugs or fake hugs.
